The Indian School, is a CBSE affiliated school located in United Arab Emirates. It is one of the largest Indian schools in the Gulf region, with a strength of around 9300 students and 500 teachers . The school mainly aims at providing an education to children of Indian origin living in U.A.E at a very affordable rate, although students of other nationalities are also admitted. Sharjah Indian School is a Senior Secondary School, Owned and Managed by Indian Association Sharjah. Established in 1979 with 280 pupils and 13 teachers, the school stands as a landmark in the annals of the Indo- UAE friendship. The school is approved and licensed by the private Education Department of the Ministry of Education , UAE and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi , India. The school which stands on a plot of land most graciously donated by H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the supreme council and ruler of Sharjah, has a purpose built and magnificent infrastructure.
The school offers all the facilities to create the right environment and ambience for growing minds. It occupies a land of 3 acres with separate blocks for boys and girls.Spacious classrooms, labs,library and a large playground are all noticeable features of the school.

The curriculum and programme of work is in accordance with the requirements of the Central Board of Secondary Education New Delhi, India.
The medium of Instruction in the school is English, with Hindi as a compulsory second language. Arabic is taught as per the rules laid down by the UAE Education Ministry. Islamic studies is compulsory for all Muslim children.
Students already schooling in recognised Institutions in India or in the schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, are admitted in the same class for which they hold the certificates. Students are expected to have studied in the classes, or in the same class the subjects which form part of the curriculum of this school. Students who have not completed a regular course of study in Std IX or XI in an institution recognised by the CBSE are not eligible for admission in Std. X or XII of this school. Once admitted to the school, the student should strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the school. The School offers students to choose from Science and Commerce streams in 11th and 12th. The school provides a perfect blend of academics,co-curricular activities and sports for the overall development of the students
The school is owned and managed by the Indian Association Sharjah. The administration of the school is carried out by the Managing Commitee elected by the members of the Indian Association Sharjah. The Managing Commitee is elected by the members of the Indian Association Sharjah. The tenure of the commitee is one year. The managing Commitee consists of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint General Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer, Auditor and Committee Members. The current president is K. BALAKRISHNAN.
